Nuevos controles e inspecciones sobre RoHS y RAEE

Controles Soivre Normativa 700x647

In 2023, new controls and inspections have been established for the importation and application of RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and RAEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Environmental protection is increasingly present in all areas of the supply chain and customs are increasingly incorporating control and security systems.

The increase in the acquisition of products from external markets and Spanish imports, which have increased by 17.9% compared to the previous year, has driven the development of new regulations for better process control.

The applicable legislation includes Royal Decree 219/2013, which restricts the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, Royal Decree 110/2015, which focuses on waste electrical and electronic equipment, and Royal Decree 106/2008, applied in the treatment of batteries and accumulators and the environmental management of their waste.

The Inspection Service SOIVRE has the authority to control these types of goods, and inspections focus on ensuring that materials comply with current regulations and that distributing and selling companies comply with mandatory documentation and regulations related to sustainable waste management. The goal of these new measures is to make the world more sustainable, especially in the logistics and transportation sector, which generates a lot of pollution. Efficient and safe management of waste generated in these processes is essential to gradually approach the sector's sustainability adaptability goals. For all updated information on this new regulation, you can access the ESTACICE website.
